FAQ
How does Ibzyachts.com work?
Below we explain the details of the process of reservation and frequently asked questions when you decide to rent a ship. If you have any questions you can call us or send us your query to info@ibzyachts.com
Search among hundreds of boats for rent displayed on our website. Select by boat type: Superyacht, Yacht, Speedboat, Open Yachts, Sailboat, and Catamaran. Take a look at all the options displayed. Once you've found the one you like the most, select possible dates in the form on the right side of the page and click on BOOK NOW or SEND REQUEST.
Next, you'll access a more detailed form where you can tell us your special requirements and your contact information so we can get in touch with you and help you find the perfect boat for you. If you need more information about any of our boats, don't hesitate to ask your specialized broker agent (technical specifications, equipment, photographs...
It's important to consider whether you prefer motor or sail, if it's just a day charter without overnight stay, or if you're looking for a boat to spend several days or a week on. The number of guests you'll be hosting is also crucial, as you'll need to choose a boat with an authorized guest capacity that meets your needs. Lastly, check the rental price and the approximate fuel consumption of the chosen boat. The prices displayed are set directly by the owner of each vessel, with no extra commission for the client. Once you've chosen the vessel, or if you have several in mind, you should request it through our Ibzyachts team via any of our channels. We'll check availability, budget, and can even send you more options than those shown on the website.
Your specialized broker agent will send you a detailed quote so you can make a final check of all specifications, dates, price, fuel costs, any other requested extras, and personal information.
The reservation will be confirmed once you make the payment of the price indicated in the quote (50% if booked more than one month in advance). The second payment, which must be made at least 30 days before boarding, will also be processed in the same way as the first through Ibzyachts. Depending on the advance notice of the trip, the percentages and times may vary, but the boat must always be 100% paid before boarding.
The client can make the payment via bank transfer to Ibzyachts' account or by credit card through the website. Once the payment has been received by Ibzyachts (usually takes 48 hours), our bookings department sends the confirmation to the client and the boat owner, and we organize your check-in.
To expedite boarding, Ibzyachts will request the user's signature on the rental contract, a copy of their ID card or passport, the corresponding qualifications in the case of renting without a skipper, and complete a navigation form with the details of the other guests on board, which will be handed over to the boat's crew to ensure everything is in order. We will accompany you throughout the process to ensure you have no doubts and find it easy, fast, convenient, and safe.
You should consider how many people will be in your group, the budget, and what you would like to do on the charter. If you're looking to spend a great day on a boat visiting different beaches, the best option is a motorboat because it's faster and the sailing time is shorter, leaving more free time to enjoy anchoring, swimming, going to your favorite restaurant, taking less time to return to port... If the idea is to spend several days or a week on vacation, sailing peacefully and relaxed, you should consider the option of a sailboat or a catamaran. You also have the option of a weekly rental yacht. Prices vary depending on the length of the boat, the year it was built, the number of crew, the port where it is moored... We recommend taking a look at the boats shown on the website and filling out the contact form. You can also contact us directly by email, phone, or WhatsApp, and we will send you a proposal with several available boats to choose from until you find the ideal one.
Once you've determined which boat best fits what you're looking for, your Ibzyachts assistant will send you a detailed quote, which will include the information for making the transfer, or the link if you prefer to securely, easily, quickly, and conveniently pay the reservation amount with a credit card.
No. Only the percentage of the amount set by your broker/assistant needs to be paid, as it varies from one boat to another. The remaining percentage must be paid at least 30 days before boarding, but we will assist you at all times to make the process simple and convenient for you. While the reservation is being processed, we can block the boat for a certain period of time, depending on the time of the season and the demand for the chosen boat, so that you can coordinate with all the members of your group.
Some mandatory and optional extras may be paid on-site on some occasions. Make sure to check with your advisor to organize payments at boarding and avoid any loose ends.
If you manage your boat rental well in advance, you ensure finding more availability, being able to choose the boat that interests you the most, and even enjoying a discount for booking in advance.
No. The rental price of each boat is set by the owner and does not entail any additional charges or commissions for the client. Renting a boat through Ibzyachts allows you to access many more options, be advised by a neutral and objective expert team whose interest is for you to find the best boat and enjoy a very positive experience.
It's always advisable to plan ahead, but increasingly in Ibiza, bookings are made last minute, for the next day or even the same morning. We recommend contacting us directly by phone, WhatsApp, or email, and we will search for available boat options. It's easier to get better prices or access boats that are only rented for full weeks. For last-minute requests, it's essential to make the reservation payment as quickly as possible because last-minute boats cannot be blocked, and if another customer pays for the reservation before you, the boat may no longer be available to you. The best option in these cases is to pay the reservation on-site at our office or through the payment gateway.
You can make the payment via bank transfer and send us the bank receipt, bearing in mind that some transfers may take more than 48 hours to process. It is also possible to pay by credit card in person at our Ibzyachts office, or through the payment gateway. For cards with high-security systems for online payments, such as AMEX for example, we do not consider the reservation effective until we have confirmation that the payment has been authorized and not declined. Some cards may have an additional fee/commission added. We recommend consulting with our bookings team to guide you through the process.
Ibzyachts works to ensure the security of transactions with our clients, and for this reason, we only work with the most secure payment methods. The payment process is carried out through the RedSys platform, guaranteeing the security of transactions. Ibzyachts does not have access to the client's card details. All communications are secured with SSL/TLS certificates, preventing them from being read or intercepted by unauthorized parties.
Once you request the blocking of a ship, the Ibzyachts team will confirm its effectiveness and evolution through a phone call or a confirmation email.
The prices indicated on the Ibzyachts website are indicative. The availability and final price of the boats will be sent with a personalized quote request based on all the requirements of each client and the chosen boat. These variables vary from one boat to another because each one offers a different package/proposal. So we advise you to carefully read the more extensive brochure that we will send you for each option, so that you can ask us any questions. As general information, fuel consumption is not included in any rental, as it is a variable factor. Other extras not included may be the skipper service, hostess, bed and bath linen, final cleaning of the boat, mooring, food, transportation, travel costs from/to the boat base, mooring and port taxes if you have to bring it from another port. Catering services, chef, water toys are usually extra services. Amenities usually include mineral water, ice, soft drinks and soft drinks, snacks and bath towels. As each boat presents a different package/proposal, your assistant-broker will tell you at all times what is included and what is not, so that you can always choose the best option, having the total cost and all the terms clear before making the reservation.
Depending on the extras contracted, some can be paid with the reservation and others can be paid at the destination, such as deposits and security deposits, skipper service, final cleaning, etc. Water toys, seabobs, jet skis, flyboard... must be paid for along with the reservation to ensure their availability, unless they are already on board the boat and it offers them as an extra service.
Yes. Once the reservation has been made, we will contact you with the boat owner, who will provide you with the rental contract so that it can be signed before the boat departure. At all times you will have a person from the Ibzyachts team available for any questions that may arise regarding the documentation required by the boat owner. Our recommendation is that you complete the formal documentation as soon as possible, so that on boarding day you have everything resolved and can board as soon as possible to enjoy the charter. As when boarding a plane, it will be necessary to carry identification documents such as ID, passport, navigation license (in the case of renting a boat without a skipper) of all the members of the group, since the captain must write a report with all guests on board and their identity documents, as required by the port authority to avoid any type of administrative sanction.
To reserve the boat, only the name, surname, contact telephone number and email. Once done, you will be asked for identification documentation for the rest of the guests. To rent a boat without a skipper, we recommend that you carefully read our post in which the current navigation licenses in force for Ibiza appear. Some boats also require a nautical resume that contains your sailing experience to be rented without a skipper.
Yes, you must request cancellation of the reservation within 24 hours after payment, for rentals that are not last minute. After this period, no returns, refunds, or modifications to reservations are allowed. You can always check the cancellation policies with each ship before booking.
After the experience of thousands of Ibzyachts clients during all these years of experience and with the recommendations of our expert captains, well versed in the coast of Ibiza and Formentera, we have compiled the best routes for motor boats, taking into account optimizing the sailing time so that fuel consumption does not rise too much and thinking about departures from the port of Ibiza. You can decide your own route at any time, tell the captain and he will give you his expert advice taking into account the weather, duration of the boat trip and estimated fuel consumption. For weekly rentals, once the boat reservation has been made, you have the option of making it yourself and sending it to us to supervise it with the captain, or ask us for advice.
Yes, safety is the most important issue on boats. We recommend that you notify us in advance of the age and height of the children to ensure that the boat has life jackets adapted for them. Other tips are: Listen carefully to the crew's safety instructions when boarding; pay attention to the railings; do not jump into the water with the engines running; remain seated and restrained to avoid falls when the boat is in motion; make sure the boat has enough shade for the little ones and avoid sunstroke; wear hats and sunglasses to protect them from the sun; rent a boat that at least has a small cabin or lounge where you can shelter from the sun or rest; and lastly and very importantly, have an adult in the group watching over them, since this is not the job of the captain or the crew. With the right measures, a day on a boat with children on board can be memorable.
You can order whatever you want. Extras are not included in the boat rental price, but we can do our best to add accessories to the charter that will make your boat holiday in Ibiza even more fun: boat catering, special drinks, champagne, flowers, list of the purchase, water toys such as a seabob, jet ski, fly-board session and many more.
Cooking on board depends on the length and dimensions of the interior spaces of the boat. The largest and best-equipped kitchens are on the largest yachts, which also have good kitchenware and crew members who take care of it, sometimes with a chef included, or with the possibility of incorporating it as an extra. ; and with a location inside the boat that facilitates odor control. The smaller boats, which are rented for individual days, do not have such equipped kitchens and their use is usually restricted. It is more recommended to opt for cold foods, such as sandwiches, salads, fruit or already prepared catering that only needs a microwave blast. We always recommend that you tell us in advance to consult with the crew of each boat and find out if it is allowed or not on the boat you are going to rent in Ibiza.
No, the complimentary drinks included on the boats are not unlimited. We usually leave enough drinks to get us through the day on the boat, mineral water, Coca-cola, Fanta, Acuarius, beer; The most common is between 1 and 2 cans per person. If you have a greater preference for one or another type of soft-drinks, you can tell us before the day of the charter, for example more beers than soft drinks, etc. If you bring your bottles of alcohol to make mixed drinks, it doesn't hurt to be cautious and bring supplies of your favorite mixer, tonics, etc.
Yes, on most of our ships you can bring your own food and drink on board. Ask us if you need any special household items and if an extra final cleaning charge applies, as is the case with some catamarans and boats for large groups in Ibiza.
The cancellation or change of day depends on the conditions offered by each owner, and it is common to change the date to another in which the client and owner agree and the boat is available. Bad weather is considered to be wind strong enough to not recommend recreational navigation and/or rain. In Ibiza during the summer months it is very unusual for bad weather, it is more common for the day to dawn cloudy but end up clearing at midday, and sometimes in Formentera the sky is completely open. It is always advisable to check the weather forecast carefully and delay your departure time. At Ibzyachts we always try to make the client happy and we do everything possible to get the best deal. If it is not possible to change the day, we always try to negotiate a refund of the reservation made. As always, we recommend that you consult the return policy of the chosen boat.
In the event that the rented yacht or boat is damaged through your fault, we will initially keep your security deposit. Once the yacht or boat has been repaired, the owner will refund the remainder of the deposit. In the event that the damage is greater than the deposit paid, the client remains only responsible for the amount of the deposit paid.
In the case of renting a boat without a skipper, and having the responsibility of returning it refueled, you do not have time to do so, the boat owner will retain your deposit until the boat is refueled. You will be presented with documentation of the refueling and a charge may apply for the extra refueling service, and even for the extra hours of use of the boat if you have returned it later than the scheduled time. The difference will be returned from your deposit after also verifying that the boat has not suffered damage. In Ibiza the boats are rented every day and they try to refuel after sailing to avoid queues at the gas station the next day, extra logistical efforts and to be able to deliver the boat to the new client at the scheduled time without having to delay check-in. We recommend that you pay close attention at check-in to the conditions for returning the boat.
The deposit or security deposit for renting a boat without a skipper has a period of between 24 and 48 hours for its return, after verifying that the boat has not suffered any external or internal damage, and that it has been correctly refueled. Once it has been verified that everything is correct, it is returned. Some damage caused to propellers, engines, electronics, anchor, awning, equipment and other details that are not so easy to see with the naked eye and are discovered when sailing with the boat the next morning, for this reason the return period can be extended up to 48 hours.
Depending on the type of boat and the route or scheduled itinerary, our team can give you an estimated consumption. This information may be relevant in motor boats, since in both catamarans and sailboats engine consumption is very low. The brochure/pdf of each boat specifies the engine, cruising speed and estimated consumption due to its use. .in operation either in liters/hour or in euros/hour. The engine only consumes fuel while it is running; During anchoring it remains off, without consuming. The power of the engines, speed, weight of the boat, sea state, wind resistance and the number of miles sailed directly influence fuel consumption. In the boat routes through Ibiza and Formentera that we show you on the Ibzyachts website, we have estimated an average duration of motor use in each one. This information is always indicative. The captain of your boat can also make an estimate of your route if you want to plot it yourself and thus know if it may be of interest to you or not based on fuel consumption.
The most accurate fuel consumption of the ship is the one carried out by the system of leaving with the tank at 100% and refueling again until it is full when returning to port. This is relatively easier with smaller boats, motorboats, boats and inflatables in general, and what is usually done all the time. Due to their size, they are easier to maneuver, their fuel tanks are smaller and they take up less space in the port. With yachts, this system requires more logistics effort, more work time and if all the boats do it, the port's gas station and the port itself would be collapsed. This system is usually used on yachts and large boats when the client decides to rent the boat for a week, entering with a full tank and refueling on the last day of the charter after the last sailing.
Our goal is to show on the website a selection of boats available for charter during the season. These are not the only boats we can offer you, we have more, probably the widest offer on the island, but to maintain the proper functioning and speed of the website we do not load them all. Every season there are ups and downs in charter boats. However, due to the operation of the sector, for the moment the available dates of each ship must be confirmed personally with our Ibzyachts reservation agents.
If you have requested the skipper service with your boat rental, he or she can sleep in the crew cabin if the boat has this type of cabin. Crew cabins are usually located in the bow and sometimes in the stern and are accessed directly from the outside, so users have greater privacy. If the boat does not have a crew cabin, they usually sleep in one of the boat's cabins. The work days for employers are long and their rest is very important. This information is important to take into account when you decide to spend the night at anchor, since if the boat does not have cabins for the entire crew, they will have to use the guest cabins, and therefore the capacity of guests sleeping on board is reduced. anchored. It is for this reason that most yachts offer overnight stays only in port, as their crew can go home to sleep, without having to use the guest cabins.
The profile of each ship always indicates the maximum capacity during the day as guests on board without counting the crew. A boat can be designed for 12 people and can mean 11 guests + captain, or 10 guests + captain + sailor. On larger yachts, due to length and characteristics, it is easier to find offices for 12 guests + crew; For this reason at Ibzyachts we always mention the capacity as guests on board. The capacity of guests sleeping on board or staying overnight is a function of the number of cabins; generally 2 people per cabin, sometimes a queen bed, king bed, two single beds in parallel or in a bunk bed, and in some cases with an extra folding pulman bed suitable for children, due to its light weight. Generally, the maximum layout we find on charter boats based in Ibiza is 4 cabins, with 5 on very rare occasions. It's easy to think that the bigger the boat, the more people can be on board, but charter licenses in Ibiza don't go beyond 12 guests + crew. Only boats with a passenger boat license can exceed this number and in Ibiza there are few, such as giant catamarans or schooners, more suitable for daytime events than for overnight stays.
Most sailboats and catamarans, during the summer season, are usually rented for full weeks, arriving on a Saturday and normally leaving the following Saturday. In the case of motor boats there is no problem for renting for a single day or several days. However, large yachts always give priority to reservations for several days in a row or a full week since, due to their size, they are ideal for spending a vacation on them, just like villas, which is why it is difficult to break up their weeks to Rent the boat for only one day. In these cases it is easier to get a reservation with a short notice, such as the day before or two days before, because if the boat has not managed to complete a week or several days in a row and has free spaces in its calendar it is much easier to get them.
Ibzyachts has an extensive fleet exclusively specialized in day trips, and we also know the boats very well. We always encourage you to contact us directly so we can send you the options that will best fit your boat day in Ibiza and Formentera.
We can organize a tandem of boats for you, that is, adding another smaller auxiliary boat to the main boat to transport guests who cannot fit on the main boat during navigation. This auxiliary boat, depending on its characteristics, could also be used to practice water sports or as a tender for the larger boat to disembark at restaurants at meal time.
Tandem boat rental is increasingly common in Ibiza, since the maximum capacity of guests on board in day charters does not exceed 12, in the best of cases, and the groups are increasingly larger. For medium groups between 15 and 30 guests, sailing with 2 – 3 motor boats at the same time is fun, because they always sail and anchor together, and it is very versatile and practical since navigation is faster than on giant catamarans and they have fewer restrictions on schedules, anchoring and boarding/disembarking.
It is very important to organize it in advance, since if at the time of check-in there are more guests than those allowed on the boat, they will not be able to get on and the departure would be greatly delayed if we have to wait to find another boat that fits. your needs to sail together, that it is in the same port, that it suits your budget, etc... We recommend that you close the group well before choosing the boat, and if the group expands, contact us with enough time in advance of check-in. in to have room to search and get you the perfect auxiliary boat to accompany you.
The day charter, without an overnight stay, lasts 8 hours. After these 8 hours, they are considered overtime. The policy of each ship and owner decides whether they work overtime or not and what the price is, since they involve extra hours of work for the crew, logistics, cleaning and office team.
The schedule normally ranges between 10:00 -11:00 and 20:00 - 20:30. Within these margins you can choose your 8-hour charter, taking into account that these will begin to count from the time you set to board, which is why punctuality is important to avoid wasting time. If you want to enjoy more of the afternoon and reach the sunset by boat, we recommend boarding later, and if the intention is to enjoy the day and the hours of sunshine more, board earlier.
Each boat needs prior preparation, testing and fine-tuning before each charter in Ibiza, and likewise after each client to replenish supplies, clean the boat, repairs and have everything ready for the next day with a new rental. This means that the crew has already started working before your arrival and that after check-out they continue working on the boat.
Sailboats and catamarans are always rented from Saturday to Saturday to optimize your schedules. Check-in takes place on Saturday afternoon. The person in charge of the boat will ask you to return it to the home port the following week, on Friday night to be ready for disembarkation on Saturday morning. The technical and cleaning team will need to prepare the boat on Saturday morning for the next clients who will arrive in the afternoon. The reason for reducing the period by half a day is this necessary time to prepare and fine-tune the boat. In the case of yachts whose previous clients have spent the night the previous night, the next check-in cannot take place before 11:00 – 12:00 noon, for the same preparation reasons.
Passenger ships such as giant catamarans and schooners have strict check-in and check-out schedules in port, as well as the routes they take, due to the port permits to embark and disembark clients, the navigation time they spend in their routes and the time necessary to prepare and fine-tune the boat.
The main extra activities contracted for boats are water toys, from jet skis, seabobs, flyboard sessions, hoverboard, jetpack with instructor, paddle surf... Contact us and we will send you all the information about these services, rates, duration and how to proceed to hire them. Some yachts already have toys such as the famous seabob, or jetski, included in their rental price. If your chosen boat does not have water toys, we advise you to try the seabob experience, it will definitely give you a much more fun boat experience.
Choosing the restaurant where you are going to eat in advance is a great success, because in addition to securing a table and your favorite seat, you will be able to predict in advance if the restaurant has a tender/auxiliary service to disembark you from the ship and re-embark. They are zodiacs with great capacity, faster and more stable than the dinghys that the boats carry, which will leave you practically on the shore, all in exchange for a tip for the boatman. If the chosen restaurant does not have a boat pick-up service with a tender/zodiac, you will depend on the dinghy/dinghy that your boat carries. They are generally smaller, with less capacity, and more sensitive to waves.Description
If the chosen restaurant does not provide this service and the boat does not have a tender, you will not be able to go down to the restaurant, with the alternatives being to choose another restaurant with this service active or skip restaurants and take food from home.Description
You also have the option of asking the restaurant to bring your food on board. This service is increasingly difficult to find due to the logistics it requires, the food may not arrive hot, or it is more complicated to ask for it to be removed and brought back if it is not to your taste. This service requires that the boat has sufficient cutlery, crockery and kitchenware, and on smaller boats it is more complicated, due to the dimensions, the spaces and because they are not designed for eating on board as in a restaurant or on a boat. of great length.Description
Another addition is the sea conditions that day; If the area chosen to anchor near the restaurant is not advisable, because you will not be comfortable, it is best to change the plan as soon as you leave the port. Our recommendation is not to leave it to the last minute and organize it well in advance, because this way you can choose the most appropriate boat route without having to navigate from one place to another looking for a restaurant, and make the most of your day on the boat.Description
It is common to tip the skipper/crew as a reward and gratitude for their hospitality and kindness in being attentive to you all day, making everything easier, advising you, recommending you and acting as a tour guide on your route. Of course, the tip is discretionary depending on the degree of satisfaction you have had with the treatment you received. At Ibzyachts we always rely on very pleasant crews and good hosts so that you feel completely comfortable and treated like royalty. Good knowledge of the islands, navigation routes, restaurants and points of interest, and who know how to react effectively and efficiently to any unexpected change of plan.
Each boat has a mooring in a port of Ibiza from where it embarks and disembarks clients, a place where it is legally authorized and covered by insurance for this purpose. Picking up clients at a point other than their mooring in the port depends on the viability and safety of the place for this purpose, the extra cost of fuel consumption for moving the boat from its base mooring to the chosen point and once disembarked there, returning from new to its mooring, the state of the sea, the draft on the shore, the auxiliary boat/tender to carry it out, etc... At Ibzyachts we always recommend boarding and disembarking from the contracted mooring of the boat. For different situations, please contact us and we will study it in a personalized way and always looking for the best option for you.
The Preference List is a list of customer preferences, so that the crew has everything ready when they arrive at the ship, has enough supplies, avoids allergies or wastes time trying to get everything quickly at the last minute. It is a list of the small details to take into account so that everything fits perfectly. It is designed for boat stays of several days.
A.P.A. is the acronym in English for Advanced Provisioning Allowance which means an Allowance for Advance Provisioning. It is an advance payment that is required to finance shipping costs; It amounts to 25-30% of the rental price, and is used to cover yacht preparation costs, requested supplies of food, drinks, fuel consumption, extra activities, crew tips and other special requests from clients.
In the event that the A.P.A. is not completely consumed at the end of the charter, the remaining part is returned to the client. Sometimes it can be done at the same time if everything has been settled, with nothing pending and with all accounts clear, or it can take up to 10 days to be returned. The A.P.A. It is an income that is managed directly by the captain and crew of the boat, as a fund from which to pay for what the client consumes during their stay on the boat. In the event that the A.P.A. If it runs out before the end of the charter, the client would have to replace it again, since neither the charter company, nor the owner, nor the crew can advance client payments.
The security deposit for the payment of fuel is a deposit taken by the captain of the boat to ensure payment of the fuel consumption made by the client on the day charter. This deposit is not necessary when the client has already paid an A.P.A. Some ships charge fuel consumption upon boarding, for a route already scheduled and with a fixed price. For clients with a free route, consumption is usually paid upon returning to port, but for security reasons it is possible that a deposit is taken and the difference is returned to the client at check-out. This deposit is more common on yachts of certain lengths and above or that consume more due to their engines or speed reached, or on large yachts that can perfectly consume €900 to €1,500 on a day charter.
